Mammalian skeletons

Display Description

Animal skeletal structures reveal important information about the animal such as its adaptation to the environment, its age and sex, and its evolutionary relationship with other organisms. Its teeth tell its food habits, its limbs show its preferred locomotion and its pelvis may disclose its sex. Articulated skeletons, which composed of bones joined together as they would in living animals, are particularly useful for understanding the animal’s form and function.
